The 12 Hours of Sebring is an annual motorsport endurance race for sports cars held at Sebring International Raceway, on the site of the former Hendricks Army Airfield World War II air base in Sebring, Florida.

  • The winning R8 of Rinaldo Capello, Johnny Herbert and Christian Pescatori, leads the second placed Champion car of Lammers, Johansson and Wallace past the pits complex into turn one, as the sun sets in the Florida sky.
  • In the last Sebring 12 Hour race to utilize the old airport circuit, the Coca-Cola Porsche 962 of Bob Aki, Hans Stuck and Joe Gartner waged a ferocious battle with the Lowenbrau Porsche 962 of Al Holbert, Derek Bell and Al Unser Jnr until turbo failure on the Lowenbrau car dropped it to third place. The winning Akin entry went onto set all time speed and distance record for the 12 hours covering 1394.82 miles at an average speed of 115.852.
  • The victorious Martini and Rossi Porsche 917 driven by Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse leads the Donohue /Hobbs Ferrari 512M.
